Role: Operations & Membership Manager
Location: Isle of Man Hours: 39 Hours a week

Construction Isle of Man (CIOM) is the voice of the Island’s construction sector — bringing together businesses, professionals and partners to raise standards, support growth and strengthen the industry.
We are seeking a positive, organised and people-focused Manager
You will act as the public face and operational support for CIOM, working closely with the Executive, members, industry stakeholders and government to support a thriving, sustainable construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of CIOM, including administration and membership enquiries
- Provide all necessary administrative support and organisation for the CIOM Board, operational staff and work groups ( arranging meetings, agendas, reporting, minutes).
- Collect, collate and report to the Board and other partners on CIOM KPI’s, industry data, financial monitoring and corporate reporting
- Update & organise office systems and processes
- Line manage and support any staff or contractors
- Plan, organise and deliver events for CIOM members, including for example CIOM Forums, STEMfest , Careers Fair, etc, etc
- Be the organisation's lead officer for GDPR compliance
- Provide social media platform updates, produce regular members' newsletters, and contact with CIOM members
- Review and overhaul CIOM website to ensure it meets the organisation's and members' needs
- Act as a key point of contact for complex member enquiries
- Represent CIOM at events, forums and public engagements
- Carry out business improvement projects, for example, modernising the delivery and take-up of Trades cards
About You
We are looking for someone who combines operational ability and strategic thinking with strong organisational and people skills.
Essential
- Experience in office management.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confidence working with stakeholders, including industry and government
- Resilience and the ability to self-motivate
- Social media skills and ability to draft letters and adverts
- IT skills including Microsoft packages, Canva or similar and basic accountancy packages such as Sage
Desirable
- Experience in membership organisations, industry bodies or networks
- Events, communications or marketing experience
- Knowledge of the Isle of Man construction or similar business environment
- Experience in project delivery, performance reporting or organisational oversight
